Colleen Dick's Project

We have recently completed off the Colleen Dicks Rebuild project in Hobsonville.

Colleen is in her 70's and was one of the first people to successfully sue the council after having a leaky home built for her by some dodgy builders, only to lose the majority of the money she won to the scavenging lawyers. Together with HOBANZ and a number of other sponsors we are rebuilding Colleens house for free, and the project will be covered by TVNZ's Close Up.

We started building the home in October 2010, and even with losing 6 weeks over Christmas when the painter pulled out, we still finished the home on February 4th 2011, and handed it over to Colleen live on prime time TV on Thursday 10th February. Colleen had not seen the home since the frames went up, so it was a huge surprise for her to see the finished product.
